I have visited few more new destinations and it’s time to write it down, because I have more coming up. So no more time for lazy days.
It is all about a weekend in Berlin in the beginning of February. I’m going to share with you some tips about the transportation, housing, food and places we found out.
Population -3.7 Million
Language –German, but most of the people speak English as well
Food – Currywurst, Schnitzel, Bratwurst
Berlin has more museums (180) than rainy days per year (106)!
Flight – This time me and my husband took a Ryanair flight from Sofia to Berlin Schönefeld. It was about 2 hours. We traveled for Free thanks to the vouchers we have received. Another flight of ours was canceled and Ryanair gave us the money back and also gave us a 80 Euro voucher for each person. This was cool.
Trains – You can easy buy the tickets from the machines- it a ABC tickets from airport to the city center. Cost us 3,40 euro per person. We travelled around 25 minutes. There was an option for bus too, but we chose the train. It was fast, clean and on time.
Housing –One of my best choices – Derag Livinghotel Grosser Kurfurst **** Great location – just 10 minutes walking to Alexanderplatz. Very luxury hotel with modern look. Smiling people on the front desk ready to help you. We took a Hypoallergenic Double Room – 70 euro per night. We received free minibar and also a smartphone with unlimited internet and phone calls . It was very comfortable to find fast and easy the places we wanted to visit.
Food – as always I will share with you 2 great places for lunch and dinner that we tried.
Brauhaus Mitte– Cute germen restaurant with 2 floors and good location (very close to subway station )We tried the mixed wurst plate with potatoes and germen style cabbage, borscht soup with beef, Kaiserschmarren.
Zur Nolle– Very fancy restaurant just across one of the NH hotels in Berlin. Amazing service and attitude. For sure will make a good choice if you order the Schnitzel, meatballs and Pork with cabbage. The prices for soft drinks are not cheap but it’s deserving.
Hard Rock Cafe Berlin – of course we keep the tradition and visit the famous café. Its located very close to Kaiser Wilhelm Church.
You can found also very tasty food on the street just to grab – wurst and cheeps. It’s about 6 euro.
Now what we visited :
Alexanderplatz– its s famous square with a subway station on it. Berliners call it simply ALEX.A 2 minutes away from the subway exit you can found
The World Clock– is a clock which displays the time for various cities around the world.
Berlin TV Tower– its located in the city center near Alexanderplatz. It`s one of the symbol of the city. The tower have 368m and on 200 m are observatory and restaurant. Try the restaurant its deserving. Better make a reservation before to go.
Berlin Dom –we have visited many cathedrals, but this one is absolutely fabulous. It is the largest in the city. You can visit it inside with a small fee.
Brandenburg Gate -is an 18th-century neoclassical monument. Throughout its existence, it was often a site for major historical events and is today considered not only as a symbol of the tumultuous history of Europe and Germany, but also of European unity and peace.
Reichstag -the term Reichstag has not been used by German parliaments since World War II. In today’s usage, the word Reichstag refers mainly to the building, while Bundestag (Federal Diet) refers to the institution.
Checkpoint Charlie – was the best-known border crossing between East and West Berlin during the Cold War. At the height of the Berlin Crisis in 1961 U.S. and Soviet tanks faced each other here. Today you can take a picture with the officers and visit the museum, souvenir shops and restaurants around the place.
Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church – is a Protestant church affiliated with the Evangelical Church in Berlin. The original church on the site was built in the 1890s. It was badly damaged in a bombing raid in 1943.It is magnificent and must see attraction. Its free.
Visit a Christmas market –enjoy the atmosphere of hundreds smiling people walking around looking for the Christmas spirit. Eat a churro or buy a mulled wine to warm your soul. Start with local and later you may visit some in foreign country.
Send a Christmas cards – even if you don’t receive any back, just send some nice words packed in colorful envelope and bring joy to people far away. You can do the same for a friend that stays the same building – happiness received.
Make Christmas cookies. Doesn’t matter if they aren’t looking great or are not edible. I am sure you will have fun doing this. For better results try with a friend, a sister, a colleague, a mom or grandmother…
Listen Christmas songs– a list with the Christmas songs for the cold season brings so much joy and warm in the heart. It`s part of the Christmas atmosphere and we need it.
Spend time with family and relatives– the most important of all.
Watch Christmas movies – these movies are so sweet. Isn`t it wonderful to stay in a warm fluffy bed drinking tea and enjoy a love store on the screen during hard snowing outside?Last times I check this are the best:
Have a Christmas tree– start from choosing the perfect one, decorate it the way you like. Add the Christmas gifts under the tree .
Put some Christmas decoration – I know some people are crazy about it, getting obsessed WOWW creepy. But I really love to put some sparkling magic decorations in the house. Try the Christmas It`s relaxing .
Get warm accessories – a hat, scarf, gloves, sweater, vest or whatever you like.
Enjoy a homemade hot chocolate –or latte, coffee or caramel milk. Check here for receipts :
Make a snowman – playing out on the snow is so much fun. Enjoy the winter season like a little child. Who said the snow man is only for kids. Make an angel in the snow. Playing out can be very cold and wet but also is healthy to breath fresh air and stay far from the laptop and the phone.
And finally make your own tradition – find something that you like around Christmas and keep doing it every year.
I’m going to share with you my top hotels in Bucharest, Romania.
Here we go:

But wait a minute, actually who needs this when you have shops in the hotel – supermarket ,fitness center, beauty studio, wellness center, dental center, restaurant, bar, pool and so on… It is a 4* hotel so of course you have to pay for everything. You have nice choice of 2 restaurants in the property – Romanian and Italian (the food is tasty ). You have no troubles with parking there. You can enjoy free of charge wellness center.
.Hotel Royal – I believe this hotel is one class down in competition with the rest we saw. But still the locations is the best to the city center – Old town (restaurants and clubs). The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is poor. There are parking lots in front of the hotel, but just few.

The entertainer book Dubai
These books are very popular with visitors and residents because they provide 2 for 1 vouchers, (sometimes more than 1 voucher per book for certain things) for restaurants, cafes, attractions and activities in Dubai. It also contains other offers like a free dessert with a main course etc.
There are 4 books
1.The main Entertainer book
This is of use to holidaymakers who intend to visit a few attractions and eat meals out, especially if you have children. You will find vouchers for ice cream parlours, coffee shops, bistros in the malls etc
2.The Fine Dining entertainer book
This book is good for holidaymakers who want to sample some of Dubai’s excellent restaurants and will usually be a 2 for 1 voucher and/or a free bottle of wine with your meal
3.The Kids Entertainer book
In my opinion this book is the best for families who live in Dubai as many of the vouchers are for things like karate lessons or regular kids things, where you would only get the full benefit if you live there BUT depending on what you and your kids want to do in Dubai it may be worth buying the book.
4.The Body Entertainer book
Again perhaps better for the residents spa junkie or for you if you intend to spend a lot of time in spas on your holiday
You can also purchase and use it through the app from here
It was the best way to save money and it was fun as well.
You can take a taxi from every location in Dubai .It is with air conditioner and all the drivers speak English .From Al Maktoum International Airport to the city center is around 100 AED.You can also use the subway. It is automatic ( no driver ) .It’s very fast and with good AC inside.
It costs from 3 to 7 AED per ride, depends on the location of the stations. You need to buy a card from the subway office and put some money inside to be able to use it and travel .You use the same card if you use the bus and it is 3 AED per ride .
If you like to walk you can make it in the night when it is not so hot but even this way there are no sidewalks everywhere so it is hard sometimes to reach your location .Everywhere on the ground is full with sand so you will have some in your shoes for sure.
Dear friends in Dubai you can found all different type of food, anything that you want they have it. Me and my husband love trying different food so I will make a list with the restaurants we visited. Here we go;
